Manual for my old stereo, a Sony MHC-771 (HCD-H771) [PDF]

I'd lost it, and couldn't remember how to change from 100CD to VIDEO mode. Answer: when off, press FUNCTION, then POWER to toggle between the two. [link]

I have the uncorrupted PDF on my hard drive. You didn't leave your email address: if you contact me privately, I can send it to you.

My sony system MHC-771 is giving me a problem please help.
firstly the CD tray was not openning
So i open the cover, and founded that two rubbers were stretch and slipped off.
So i replaced the rubbers and the problem sloved, it was now opennig freely.
When i finished everything the system suddenly would not come on .
please say if there is a fuse blow or not ?
remember my system was turnning on before i change the rubber.

Wish I could help. My stereo, also a MHC-771, stopped working. Rather, the CD tray is stuck at open. Not being the very handy type, and increasingly relying on MP3s and my small Logitech R-20 speakers (which are pretty great, actually) for music in my apartment. I do miss the speakers on the MHC-771, so one of my goals for Spring cleaning is to figure out what to do with it, which may mean getting it repaired at a local stereo repair shop? Do those even exist anymore? I intend to find out, and I'll report back here if they have a fix for the CD drive problem, which seems to be affecting me too, if in a different way.

Not sure how the manual is going to help! Probably just a rubber band come lose in the CD mech. Take the cover off, the fault will probably be quite obvious.
