A Small, Independently-Owned, Art-House Theater

June 10th, 2004

I just read the entire archives—yes, the entire archives—of Cinema 24, a weblog “intended to chronicle the process of developing, financing, starting, and maintaining a small, independently-owned, art-house theater”.

filmgoerjuan comments: “It's being updated pretty much daily and based on the posts so far, they're going about it intelligently. They're doing the market research, they're securing the financing...certainly they've got their theatre-owning fantasy moments (what kind of things they want to stock at the concession, how they'll make themselves available in the lobby to discuss films with the patrons, etc.), but overall the sense I get is that they are planning this venture from the ground up, and planning it well.”
